Happy New Year!

Watching Spot on DVD with his beloved truck aka lorry

Happy 2008 to anyone reading this little blog. Does anyone read this? As I don't have comments it's very difficult to tell, but anyway I hope this year is a good one for each of you.

It's a cold, rainy Tuesday and the boy and I are staying indoors. Hibernating if you will. Yesterday was a pretty bad day all round so I decided that today needed no agenda only plenty of time to play and mess around.

So far so good. I have chased the boy round the flat with a plant spray, squirting him if I get too close with a mist of water. He LOVES this. Much squealing! We've had rides on his new Christmas trike with teddy hitching a ride on the back. We've played with Bob the Builders workbench. We've read numerous books - making appropriate quacking noises when any ducks happen to appear on the page. We've played with some paper fish that swirl to the ground when you throw them in the air. We've done some colouring with crayons in his new colouring book from his friend Zak. Josh has run his trucks up and down the sofa so many times I swear he's going to rub a track onto the cushions. Postman Pat's van has of course made numerous mail deliveries around the living room. Real life Lorries and cars have been spotted out of the window. Noddy and Postman Pat episodes have been enjoyed on the big screen from the sofa, accompanied by the obligatory banana and cup of juice. AKA 'jus' and 'ba'. And now finally he is lunched and napping. Maybe I should go and have a lie down too.....

Just a taste of our 'rainy day' indoors.

Here's to many more days with no agenda - they seem to be the way to go so far this year. If the grey drizzle is anything to go by I guess that's how January is probably going to be spent anyway!

Mac Web Gallery is up!

my little Stewie Griffin !!

Check it out

We've put a couple of slideshows of Josh onto this web gallery courtesy of the lovely Mac leopard OSX (hmmm that sounds rather geeky huh?). Anyway I think it looks cool. See what you think. In any event the boy looks cute - and that's the point right?

Playing with the wheelbarrow in the sandpit at Gorgie CIty Farm.

Just a quick picture of the boy. It's been far too long since I posted anything. He's getting so big - a proper toddler!

If you're happy and you know it.....

2007-08-15

Josh has been able to clap his hands for a while now and will flash his cheeky grin while clapping away to entertain anyone who is willing to watch. His favorite book is "If you're happy and you know it" which has pictures of teddy bears doing the relevant actions. It's been chewed, sucked, ripped and dribbled on. He ripped out his favorite page showing the teddies clapping hands and would hold it up to show you if you said "clap hands Josh"! He's a clever one :-)

Today we took things to the next level and learnt how to stamp our feet. Or rather Josh studied the teddies in his book while I sat on the floor stamping my feet like an idiot. Josh stood up and stamped his little feet for all he was worth, grinning from ear to ear as if to say " now Mother that's how you do it, you have to stand up to stamp properly silly!". So that was me told. Or at least that's how I felt!

He toddled off to show JB his new skills and stamped his feet with much abandon as JB emerged from the office to see what all the commotion was.

Next action is touch your toes. Yay at last a quiet one!
