No TV

2006-02-02

It's amazing the response you get to not having a TV in your possession.

Mostly it's a look of horror that you can possibly consider the idea, followed by cries of "what do you do with your time?" or "how do you relax in the evening?" ......

This article caught my eye as it proves that you can have a positive experience living without a tele.

It wasn't a conscious 'life plan' for me and JB when we got married. Neither of us owned a TV and having lived without one for probably 5 years or more it didn't even cross our minds to aquire one.

People did and still do try and throw them at us any chance they get. I've probably been offered at least 3 teles that people had going 'spare'.

Having said all that though I love nothing better than slumping on the sofa with a good dose of sensationalist trash tv......did you see that awful breast feeding programme last night!! What on earth is an eight year old doing still sucking on her Mum's boobs? Wrongness.....

And I do like to watch films with JB. But that is what DVD's and a flat screen monitor are for. At least that way we can pick and choose what we watch and when, rather than being bombarded with crap from the goggle box in the corner.
