Sunday afternoon
So JB is away in Oxford with Ross having a blokey ahem.... bonding (aka..... drinking) session before baby B renders us unlikely to venture out for a wee while.
Oh what to do with several days of me time??
Despite initial plans to revel in all this solitary freedom - I find myself feeling somewhat at a loss to know what to do with my time. It's not that I don't have things to do.... I have in fact got quite a long list of things I should be doing, but I can't seem to muster up the inclination to do them :-(
I feel lethargic and headachy and lacking in motivation. Oh woe is me! Maybe it's these darn iron tablets I've been prescribed. I certainly didn't feel this crap before I started taking them.
I have done some nice things with my day though. It's been odd weather - lovely and sunny and spring-like one minute and snowing the next!! I ventured out into Stockbridge and had a toasted panini in Cafe Nero and read my current book for a while. Then I got some baking supplies with a view to making some chocolate brownies from Nigel Slaters lovely book 'The Kitchen Diaries'. I'm still waiting for the butter to soften so I haven't got round to starting those yet.
What I have been doing is packing my hospital bag - just in case!!! People keep reminding me that baby B could put in an appearance any time soon - so better to be prepared than caught off guard!
It's amazing the long list of stuff that is required for me and a tiny person to potentially spend a couple of days in the Simpson. I'm hoping that the bag(s) won't be needed but if this baby decides to stay breech, as they are at the moment, then I will definitely need my bags packed.....
If all does go well and baby B moves head down then we're still planning a home birth - but it's recommended that you have your bags packed just in case you need to transfer to hospital - so in any event it's necessary. I still have a few things to add to the bag(s) - one for me and one for baby - but they are sundries really and nothing that can't be purchased quite easily - things like the very glamorous disposable knickers!!! the less said about those the better........
