Hot out of the oven - the recipe was slightly adapted from Nigellas' HTBADG - Lily's Scones p67

I didn't have anything savoury to munch on in the flat this morning and the hunger pangs were coming thick and fast......

I've been ravenously hungry the last few days - I wonder what that means??

So I decided to make a batch of cheese scones to be thickly slathered with butter hot from the oven :-)

I adapted Nigella's recipe from HTBADG (Lily's Scones p67) by adding some parmesan, paprika, mustard, white pepper, tumeric and baking powder instead of cream of tartar as I didn't have any in the cupboard. I only just had enough flour so it was a mix of plain and self-raising.

I slapped on the egg wash - which I would normally skip as I'm just too lazy for that malarky - and I think it's given them an added 'golden glow'.

I'm pretty pleased with the result - just hope JB likes them too when he gets home!
