2 months old!
I can't believe how quickly these last two months have flown - Josh is now a strapping 10lbs and 1 whole ounce - and is adapting well to life out in the open!
We took him for his first immunisations today - and I was dreading it to be honest. JB kindly came with us in case I got too upset to comfort Josh and made things worse. I felt awful knowing what was coming as Josh was smiling away happily while getting weighed, measured and checked over - blissfully unaware of the impending jags. JB held him while they were administered and he screamed his head off as one would expect but it was over quickly and I didn't freak out too much :-)
We sat in a tiny box-room - aka cupboard - and gave Josh a cuddle and a wee feed to try and calm him down. Thankfully he went off to sleep and his relieved parents headed quickly to Cafe Nero for a well earned cup of coffee and a sit down!
An eventful day in the life of such a wee boy!
He's been such a cutie lately - smiling, cooing and gurgling happily. He's become fond of a green and purple sheep hand puppet and smiles winningly when we play 'peep-po' with him.
It's so nice to see him getting chubbier and putting on weight after the slow start with feeding. We both seem more relaxed about the whole thing and it's much easier now that he takes his 'top ups' from a bottle.
His head is much less 'floppy' and he sits up supported in his little bouncing chair and watches us intently while we eat our dinner at the table. He certainly likes company and will grumble if we leave him in his cot if there are other more interesting things going on around him. Reminds me of me in that respect - I didn't want to miss out on anything - and hence didn't get much sleep!
He's sleeping pretty well - probably 5 hours at a stretch on a good night. He has a couple of naps of about an hour and half during the day too and is really a very relaxed and chilled out baby. He sometimes has his fractious moments and will grizzle and cry for a feed or nappy change but real 'melt downs' are happily infrequent.
He's proving to be a very social little chap and will happily go to other people for a cuddle without a fuss.
Josh you are a total charmer and I am utterly smitten :-)
