Tart - 2nd attempt
Having treated myself to a proper tart tin from the wonder that is IKEA, I decided that another tart needed to be attempted.
This time I used a more traditional recipe for the pastry - butter, flour and egg instead of the rather bizarre flour and olive oil combo.
This was also baked blind - I really should get hold of some baking beans instead of fiddling about with greaseproof paper and dried pulses.
The filling was really an excuse to use up the spinach and swiss chard from our organic box that was in danger of turning to sludge in the bottom of the fridge. So after cooking and finely chopping the greens and adding them to the baked pastry case I added some bacon & mushrooms that I had fried, then beaten eggs and grated cheese.
It was pretty tasty but I think next time I'll do without the nutmeg that I added to the spinach - it was a bit too punchy for this - but apart from that I think it was successful :-)
