Swimming, crawling, teething....what's next?
So Josh went swimming for the first time today with me and my Mum. We went to the Commonwealth pool as they have a lovely big baby pool which is nice and warm and I had heard good things about it from other mums. I was a bit apprehensive. Despite all the preparation of the vast amounts of stuff that we needed to take and the firm conviction that a wet, slippy baby and a concrete changing room floor don't mix, I think we did rather well.
Lets cut to the chase. Josh loved it.
He splashed and squealed and kicked and giggled and smiled and generally had an absolutely fab time :-)
He met another little boy who was also enjoying his first swim and who kindly let Josh have a go in his big yellow floating swim-seat! I think we'll have to get one of those.
The changing and the showering didn't seem all that difficult after all. It certainly helped having another pair of hands though and Mum had a lovely time entertaining Josh while I got dressed and dried.
Afterwards we headed up to the coffee shop for a drink and for Josh to have his 3pm bottle. He scoffed it and was out like a light. He slept soundly in his car seat while we enjoyed a bit of a natter.
We may well have to do this again soon! Next Tuesday suit you Mum?
