Happy Birthday cheeky monkey!

2007-05-20
covered in cake.....

16 blue and silver balloons, 3 Happy Birthday banners, 1 Banana Birthday cake, 31 number 1 shaped biscuits with blobs of blue icing, 12 carefully iced fairy cakes and bazillions of bubbles make for one very happy Birthday Boy. And by default one exhausted but very happy Mummy!

It was a great party. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Not least the boy himself looking quite the part togged out in his pale blue cheeky monkey t-shirt bought specially for the occasion. What's a cheeky monkey party without an appropriately attired toddler?! I ask you!

Josh was suitably spoiled with many, many very cute outfits from very kind friends and family and a stack of great toys. Our flat is now home to a vast array of brightly coloured things that make farm animal noises or play nursery rhymes. Josh jiggles along with the tunes and finds it all amusing.

The boy was totally unfazed by so many folk crowding into our small flat and took the opportunitly to entertain us with clapping, pointing, toddling from knee to knee and generally just being one smiley cheery chap :-) He has the best giggle!

After a brief nap for our wee monkey - who was flagging considerably after about an hour of cooing and cuddling - we got on with the serious business of singing 'Happy Birthday' and eating cake. Josh (unsurprisingly) loved the icing. That's my boy!

It was a big day for the birthday boy and for his Mum and Dad too. Who knew parties could be soooo exhausting! JB and I vegged out with a pizza and a DVD once the boy was safely tucked up in bed - full of cake and happy memories!
