Lots going on.....
Sorry for the radio silence folks - this going back to work malarkey leaves little time for blogging. However, I won't have to worry about that for much longer 'cos I've handed in my notice!! My last day is 12th July. It was going to be Friday 13th but that would have been just plain wrong so I took my official last day as annual leave :-) Bizarrely I'm going to be helping out at the Graduation ceremony on my last day - so it seems I will have come full circle back to Registry. Odd but nice too as I get to say goodbye to some people in Registry as well.
So what am I going to be doing with myself once I've finished work? Well I'm going to be full time Mummy to Josh :-) JB is going to concentrate on his (much better paid and more enjoyable) work. Compared to mine that is. I am looking forward to spending lots more time with the wee chap but part of me is going to miss the girls from the office and the rare thing that is 'me' time - even if that was only the walk to and from the office! I guess it's also the independence factor too. I'm going to try very hard to take Josh to more activities so he can make some little friends and have more varied activities to fill his days (and mine!).
So on top of that the Barretts (once again) are moving! Why you may ask? You only did that at Christmas! Yes - I say but our landlord is selling so we have little choice in the matter :-( On the up side our new flat is lovely. It's bigger and brighter and closer to town and is generally quite nice thank you very much :-) It's got a separate tumble dryer (people with kids will know this is a god send) and aspiring domestic goddess that I am revels in the prospect of a much bigger and better equiped kitchen (with a gas hob - oh yes!). Plus it has a large boxroom with a double platform bed for guests - fab! And (I dare you not to laugh) a plasma tv attached to the wall in the livingroom. And before you ask - no we're not planning on watching tele.
In other news (I thought I'd save the biggy till last) Josh is walking
I shall repeat that....
Josh is walking - properly, on his own, without assistance, all the time, all over the flat, while carrying things, with a huge grin on his face :-)
He is a little boy all of a sudden. Boy are we in for it now!
